Simple syrup is something I usually keep on hand in my fridge. It’s easy to make – simple, really đŸ˜‰ – and stores for quite some time. It never lasts long enough for me to determine just how long; however, it has kept for a least 2 weeks by my records.

A Manhattan is one of my favorite classic drinks, though I prefer a nice bourbon over Rye Whiskey in mine [have I ever mentioned I’m a bourbon girl?]. This method looks like a fun way to serve it. I plan to try it soon, but if you happen to give it a go before I do, I’d love to hear how (if) it works for you. And any tips you might have would also be welcomed…I will do the same when I make my own attempt!!
Last week I was moving around the pots of herbs in my backyard, pulling weeds from them and watering them, getting them ready for the heat of another Texas summer. We are having some work done – the main reason I am moving those very pots out of the way – and the man who was prepping my yard came over.
