Today marks the beginning of The Ultimate Blog Challenge. I don’t remember how I came upon it, but I signed up as soon as I saw it. The challenge runs the entire month of July. I have committed to writing 31 blog posts in 31 days.
As many of you are aware, I have had this site for many years. At the beginning I really had no idea what I wanted to do with it or where I planned to take it. I only knew that my passion for both food and writing were finally able to come together in one place. I have done very little to promote it, really nothing beyond adding a Facebook page and seeking ‘Likes’ from the occasional reader who wanders through. The postings have been few and far between, more on a whim rather than any sort of regular schedule.
Recently I decided it was time to evolve. I spent some time getting WordPress updated – I had certainly NOT been keeping up with that, a mistake I will not so readily repeat now that I am finally updated! I enlisted help from a gifted friend in the past few weeks. He created this site for me, and he was the one finally able to get WordPress to update with no loss of data…thanks, Mike! I plan to further refine the look and ease of use over the coming month.
Writing and cooking are my fortes; the behind-the-scenes WordPress activity is a slow process for me. But I am plodding along, bit by bit. Each day I learn something new.
In the meantime, look for my daily posts…I’ve got some fun
planned for the month and am looking forward to jumpstarting things around here! A healthy challenge is great for the soul, and hopefully for the site, too!
